I have been in the same position that I am sure many of you have been in. You are walking through a casino and you see a machine and you think what if? You should only be playing the best paying slot machines. You should only be playing machines that have a 95 percent or higher pay out. You will most likely not find many of these machines in the quarter section of the casino – you usually need to be playing one dollar machines at the minimum. You may want to play on the machines that are not in the areas that say up to 98 percent payback. This does not mean that all machines in that area will payout like that; it may mean only one machine in that area is considered a loose machine and that one machine pays back 98 percent, while the others do not. Look for machines that have the payback percentage directly on them, instead of the giant signs that stand above a grouping of machines.
When you play the machines that have multiple line payouts, you are actually decreasing your odds of winning. It is definitely better for you to be playing on one line payout machines. You normally have to pay more to hit all of the lines available and your payout will not be as high if you were playing the one payout line machine.
Test out the machines you are playing. Do not fill the machine with all of your money simply because you have a good feeling. After a few rounds of betting, stop and think about what has been happening. Have you lost most of your money on the machine and it is almost gone? Are you up? Are you breaking even? If you are up or breaking even, you should stay awhile longer and see how things turn out. If you are down and have almost lost everything you have put in, get up and try out a different machine.
One of the main tips that I give to everyone, no matter what type of game they are playing in the casino is to know when to walk away. Do not spend more than the amount you had planned on spending. You should not enter a casino without an amount in your head that you are willing to lose. In most situations, you also should not bring your ATM card or credit card inside the casino with you; they will only tempt you into taking more money to gamble. And, most likely – if you have not been a winner all day, what makes you think you will leave a winner because you took out more money?
